Employee of the Month - January

Congratulations to the Alumni Hall employees of the month! Thanks for all of your hard work and dedication to our brand.

#2 West Town Mall - Krista Parker (2nd nomination in a row!)

Who is your favorite college athlete? Bryce Brown

What is your favorite college tradition? The Vol walk

# 5 Georgia Square Mall - Crystal Kull

# 6 Turkey Creek - Taylor Stiles
Favorite Athlete: Skylar Mcbee

Favorite Meal in food court: I love Panera Bread. I always get the Chipotle Chicken sandwich and the broccoli cheddar soup.

# 7 "National Champions" Tuscaloosa - Chase Wagner

#8 Murfreesboro - Kaylea Masters

#9 New River Mall - Melissa Moody
Where Should We Expand? If Alumni Hall were to expand I think they should consider building around the Wisconsin area. There are a number of stores located in the southeast portion of the United States and not in the north. Wisconsin has a huge fan base, which is essential to selling merchandise. They are not only big on football but also on basketball providing a constant demand for fan apparel.

Best College Tradition? One tradition that has only been developed in the last few years is the 3.2 mile run for the 32 involved in the tragic event at Virginia tech. I think it is essential not to forget that we are united and have not forgotten those who were involved. I think it is a tradition that will remain for many years to come and it is exciting to see the number of people willing to help keep the tradition alive.

#12 Crabtree Mall - Emily Williams
Favorite Meal in the Food Court? Main Street Market because I occasionally get extra chicken from one guy!

If you could have dinner with 3 people who would they be and why? Jim Valvano, Kay Yow, and Lady Gaga. Jim Valvano and Kay Yow because they are inspirational and stand for not giving up. They are some of NC State's greatest! Lady Gaga because I've always wanted to know how she keeps her fake hair made in to a bow in place.

#15 St. Matthews Mall - Calvin Drye

The month of January is a crazy one for retail workers. To go from the busy days during the Christmas holidays to the slow monotony of the first of the year is like hitting a brick wall going 50 mph. It is during this time period when you can tell who your most dedicated workers are. They are the ones who show up and make the most out of every shift. Calvin Drye is that worker for the Mall St. Matthews. Calvin has handled the slow down with great professionalism. He is always available for call-ins or to run errands for the store. When he has a shift, he is prompt, courteous, and engaging. This is an area that you can tell that he has been working on. I have had several repeat customers comment on how well of a sales job he does. During the slow season, it is important to capitalize on every person that walks into your store. So if you find yourself in the Mall St. Matthews, stop by Alumni Hall to talk UK basketball with Calvin, and don’t be surprised when you buy several sets of 2 for 20’s.
